Get ready for an adventure into a really interesting book of the Bible called Leviticus! You might not have heard much about Leviticus before, and it might sound a little bit like “levitating” in space, but trust me, it’s full of amazing things! In Exodus, we learned about God rescuing the Israelites and giving them the Ten Commandments. Now, in Leviticus, we find out what happened next! The Israelites are free, but they need to learn how to live as God's special people. Imagine you just joined a really cool club, but you didn’t know the rules yet! That’s kind of what it was like for the Israelites.

Leviticus is like God’s instruction book for them. It teaches them all about:
• How special and amazing God is! He’s unlike anything else, and Leviticus helps us understand just how special.
• Following God’s helpful rules – not rules that are boring, but rules that actually helped them live happily and peacefully together, and close to God!
• Being “sparkling clean” for God – inside and out! We’ll learn about what that means and why it was important.
• Giving thank you gifts to God – just like we say thank you for presents, the Israelites learned special ways to say “thank you” to God!
• Saying “Oops, I’m sorry!” to God – because everyone makes mistakes, right? Leviticus teaches us how to make things right with God when we do.
• God’s helpers in His special house – like having helpers at school or home, God had special helpers called priests and we’ll learn about their jobs.
• Having party time with God! Yes, even in the Bible, there are celebrations and feasts, and Leviticus tells us about the joyful times the Israelites had worshipping God together.
• Having a special rest day - like a super-relaxing Sunday (or Saturday for some people!) where they remembered God.
• Making good choices – because our choices have consequences, and Leviticus shows us how choosing God's way brings good things!
• Being kind to EVERYONE – because loving our neighbour is a super important part of living God’s way!

Get ready for lots of hands-on activities in these lessons! We’ll be making things, playing games, acting out stories, and even tasting some special foods (symbolically, of course!). We’ll be exploring Leviticus in ways that will help us understand it and see how it can even teach us things today!
